How a group buy works, step by step
Updated
Every group buy on TraderCommons goes through the same stages, and the page always shows which one is current. Here is the path from the first look to your materials.
Six steps
- Find a product. Open the catalog or a category page and pick a course, a robot, an indicator or a bundle. The page shows the price at the author, your contribution, the current stage and the timer.
- Join. Press "Join" while the group buy is in Announcement or Enrollment. Joining does not charge you, and you can leave at the stages where leaving is allowed.
- Pay your share. At Payment and Last call the contributions are collected. The contribution grows with each later stage: +25% of the base at Payment and +50% at Last call, so joining early costs the least.
- Wait for the purchase. If an unexpected cost appears, the group buy moves to Extra fees and you can decline the fee. Otherwise the organizer buys the product.
- Get your materials. At Delivery the organizer shares the product, and everyone who paid sees the materials on their delivery page.
- Completion. The group buy closes and the organizer is paid.
Where your money is
- Your payments are recorded in your transaction history.
- Money paid into a group buy is not released to the organizer until the group buy is completed.
- If a group buy is cancelled, your payments return to your balance.
- Every group buy is reviewed by a moderator before it is published.
If a link does not work
Press "Report a broken link" on the item. The organizer has 24 hours to fix it or answer, and unresolved reports go to moderators.
